Teen Hit By Car Outside High School On Long Island, Seriously Injured

A teenage girl suffered serious injuries after she was hit by a car near a high school on Long Island, police said.

A 14-year-old girl had to be airlifted to a hospital after she was hit by a car outside of Division Avenue High School on Tuesday, Oct. 3, police said.

It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 3 in Levittown, according to Nassau County Police.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was on Division Avenue just north of Church Road — the location of Division Avenue High School — when she was struck by a 2016 Mazda.

The girl was taken via helicopter to a local hospital for her serious injuries. She is currently in stable condition, officials said.

The driver, a 34-year-old man, was not injured and remained at the scene of the crash.

Additional information, including what led up to the crash, have not been released, as the investigation is ongoing.
